Mud Gauntlet

April 19th, 2015

Deep Mud, insane obstacle and 350+ participants who tested their limits during the STAP Mud Gauntlet.  Competitors faced new obstacles such as storming the gates and battled through insanely deep mud thanks to some pre-event rain storms.

The first group to hit the course was the NEWBSANITY points wave, who were led out by Aaron Perry and Jared Jordan (2014 Extreme Ravine winner) who set a blistering early pace. As these two pushed to break away Ryan Klein fought to remain in striking distance and when the leaders made a navigation error he took over the lead and never looked back. Ryan held off a hard charge from Zac Zopp and crossed the finish line first in a time of 33:45. On the women's side, Jennifer Reis (38:10) put in another dominating performance to win the women's overall for the second consecutive year, while Sara Korba took home runner up honors.

We would also like to thank Mary Kaminsky and the rest of the staff at STAP (Southern Tier Aids Program Inc) for their effort in making this event such a great success.
